I searched the forum and did not find anything. Anyone know of some reasonable priced Tally lights? I just want to use them in our video booth. We have to PTZ Camera operators with their own monitors that I want to mount a tally light to so they know when it is live. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using Smartphones? See vMix User Guide - Web Controller - Tally Lights

Quote:
The Tally Lights feature allows you to turn any WiFi enabled smart phone into an instant tally light!
The entire screen will be used as a tally light allowing you to mount it on top of the camera or place it near your on air talent.

Setting up a Tally Light

1. Make sure both the vMix PC and the smart phone are both connected to the same WiFi network.

2. Open up the smart phone browser and type in the Web Controller URL. (This URL can be found by clicking Settings in vMix and looking under the Web Controller tab.)

3. Select the Tally Light icon in the menu to bring up the following page:

4. Select any Input from the list to start the tally light display.

The tally light display will change between the Preview and Output colours depending on the status of that input.

Thanks I did not try that . I will try it this weekend and see how it goes. I was hoping for a more permanent solution where i would mount lights on top of each monitor.

If someone in your congregation is good with electronics, you could build your own with Arduino device. From vMix User Guide - Tally Lights

Quote:
Arduino Tally Lights

vMix supports the use of custom built Tally Lights through use of the open source Arduino hardware platform. (See http://www.arduino.cc/)

vMix required that the StandardFirmata firmware be loaded on to the Arduino device.

To connect to the Arduino device, go to the Input properties (click the i button) and from the Tally Light tab, select the COM port of the Arduino device and select the Tally Number.

The Tally Numbers are assigned to individual Digital Pins on the Arduino in the order specified in the Tally Lights tab in Settings.

The following is an overview of the digital pins and how to attach LED lights to them:

If not, the least expensive system for vMix could be this one

That's a nice system, but priced higher than the Digital Arts metaSETZ system, though less than Tally-Lights system with 4 tally lights.
