I understand (and support) the decision to only let the top three license levels of vMix HOST a vMixCall.
However, I would like for those who have licensed vMix Basic HD to be able to CONNECT to a call I have set up with my 4K license.
Ok, you say... why not have the guest just use a Chrome or Firefox browser and tell the browser to use the "vMix Video" output?
That's what I have been doing... until I saw this message from Martin in another thread (https://forums.vmix.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=41542#post41542)
"However, vMix Video is not really supported on vmixcall.com as you should be connecting from within vMix in that case."
I don't know why this is, as the browser should (and does) treat it like any webcam.
I also don't know if there is any performance gain going directly from vMix to vMix, possibly simplifying the connection, but it would be great if it did.
So, if we can let a non-vMix user connect to my call via a browser, it seems reasonable to me to let a licensed vMix user connect to my call via their paid vMix Basic HD interface.
What say you folks?

+1 and makes sense. vMix HD Basic - Call Out or Call Connect - No Incoming Call but great to connect vMix to vMix. That is the way I read what you said, please let me know if I got it right.

Rich, you understood correctly... I am asking for the ability to join an existing call via Basic HD.

+1 Also helps if the end user is not a Vmix User they can 1 try the 90 day trial and 2 continue to use the free version after this date to connect the host. May help gain further customers.

Am I missing something here? What's the difference between vMix to vMix Call and using vMix as the video source in Chrome or Firefox?

Ice,
I don't know... and that is why I don't understand Martin's comment (in red in my first message)
If there is some benefit in connecting without a browser, it would be good to take advantage of it.

@Ice I think: We have better control over the stream quality and project resolution when using vMix to vMix. Otherwise the browser decides. Also I guess we avoid the AEC (Audio Echo Cancellation) algorithm in the browser.
+ bypass this "bug" in chrome not letting users choosing video source when multiple are available

Hey Guys,
As a New user ( Just Bought Pro Woot!) I really am sadden to see this because it feels like its a win win for Vmix, their biggest supporters and the people who get to enjoy their stream.
After paying $1700+ Australian dollars I am forced to pay another $450+ AUd per person to achieve the quality that I was originally hoping for.
The fact of the matter is I was going to help the Guest, download, install and setup their copy of vmix and then instruct them on the basics of use.
I did this because i saw the difference and potential of what you offered.
So instead of introducing these people, walking them through the basics and then knocking their socks off when we go live and we are getting a slightly above average experience with bugs and lag.
Honestly I want to show off how good Vmix and have everyone wondering how it looked so damn good.
But I cant pay $2000 every time I want 4 guest to come in at the quality that you showed us Vmix can do.
it feels like everyone is missing out and having to suffer the bugs and problems the browsers seem to make.
Honestly split the ability to host calls and ability to call in. if we go around showing these people what they are missing out on I'm sure they will buy in big time
.. But we do need to show them
Regards and love you all, just feeling like I'm missing out on the best bit of vmix
Nathan

From the release notes of vMix 20(!):
vMix Call
All vMix editions including Basic HD can now connect to a remote vMix Call running HD or higher
