As I was in the make ready process for our weekly Hangout I discovered that vMix 19.0.0.53 and Chrome 60 don't work together. Chrome cannot see the external video.

I was pressed for time, so I reverted vMix to 19.0.0.50 (file on hand) and Chrome to 59. That combination works as expected.

Once the sessions ends (still live now) I'll try vMix 19.0.0.53 and Chrome 59.

Have confirmed that vMix 19.0.0.53 and Chrome 59 DO work normally. So, expect trouble when Chrome 60 gets into the wild. It's currently the beta channel.

Hi,

This is quite odd in that the only changes from 50 to 53 are with the Facebook API.
In fact the vMixVideo.ax component (which is what controls the vMix Video directshow outputs) is identical to way back in vMix 17.

Thus the only theory I have is that perhaps some settings in vMix are different between 53 and 50 on your computer.
For example the resolution or frame rate configured in Settings -> External Output.

I do know in some current release versions of Chrome, that the vMix Video frame rate needed to be set to 30p
in order to work properly with some WebRTC apps like Google Hangouts, but the Beta and Canary releases resolved this.

Regards,

Martin

Martin,

I think the trouble is in differences between Chrome 59 and 60, not vMix at all.

It just happened that I updated vMix in the same week that Chrome 60 pushed to the beta channel I was running.

I'll do a little more experimentation over the weekend and report the results.
