I'm in the trial mode of the vMix software. I having issues with setting up an external audio mixer. I have a Mackie 1202-VLZ3 mixer. My computer consists of and Osprey 440 Capture card, built in sound card and a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card. I'm also using a Logiteck HD 1080p webcam. I want to be able to hear everything in my headset/mic. I do live video broadcasts with 2 talents talking. I need to be able to hear the video commercials when played, audio of Skype calls. I've accomplished this all to work with my other software (VB). I know someone else as done this and was hoping for some help. I've looked at all the help files and tried to find a tutorial video on youtube as well with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can get the audio figured out I think I will be switching to vMix.

Hi,

I was about to reply to your email, but I think I will reply here for the benefit of everyone.
Perhaps if you could put together a schematic of how you run your setup, including all inputs and outputs, I can then let you know the best way to go.

I have provided some information below on how audio is commonly used in vMix:

* Any external audio sources should run through the capture card.
* This capture card should then be added to vMix and in the settings under Add Input, make sure the audio is also configured for this capture source.

You will now have a capture input in vMix that also includes the sound from your mixer.

* Any video clips etc you add as well will also show up as audio sources in vMix.
* These audio sources will all be mixed automatically in vMix depending on what is active.
If you want the audio from one of these sources/inputs to always be heard see here: http://www.vmix.com.au/help9/Mixer.html

Under this setup all audio sources would run through the vMix computer and your headset mic would use the soundcard output.

Regards,

Martin

Hi,

The second option is if you want the mixer to run all audio sources.
Under this scenario, just run the soundcard output to the mixer.

To prevent a feedback loop you will need to add the capture input into vMix (that includes the Osprey audio) and make sure audio is set to none.
Then you can select the Osprey audio source in your recordings, streaming etc and also in the external output settings if you use a DeckLink/Intensity card for output.

Martin

The audio should be set to none for that webcam unless you have a reason to attack the osprey audio to it?
I assume you have a separate camera connected to the osprey?

I think it would be best if you could draw up a schematic.

I need to hear all in my headset. I do Skype Video interviews. Need to hear video commercials when I'm broadcasting live in my headset. Right now I have a double audio from my mic headsets coming into my ear phones on my headset. Thanks for your help. I will be promoting this to other broadcasters in the rodeo field if we can get this figured out.

Thanks,

What are all the audio sources you need to hear and how are they all plugged in at the moment? (And how were they plugged in under your previous software?)
It's a bit unclear from the schematic the desired direction of flow of all the audio sources.

Martin

Voice audio is all coming into the USB mixer. The USB Audio Codec. http://screencast.com/t/Pjqb7imdV

I also have the USB Audio Codec for the return sound back to my headset. This is so I can hear the computer sounds for skype, video commercials that play in vMix. The Blackmagic Intensity pro is used for the External Out put to my video amplifier that puts the video/audio to my Big Screen Tvs. I can hear everything fine except my problem is I can hear the voice from headsets twice. Sound coming in from the USB Audio Codec and having the headsets in mixer I get sound from mic onheadsets direct into the headset.
