Hi and thanks in advance for any help!

Subject says the main issue, I have smooth running NDI feed to VMIX on one computer (not mixing pc though) and not on my main mixing PC.
All is hard wired over Ethernet and using brand new Ethernet cables, and have swapped them around to make sure not a problem cable.
Steps I have taken to resolve:
-Replace router and modem
-Add switcher
-Update network drivers
-add new network adapter to try
-reinstall vmix


Last thing I think could be a problem is some sort of connection restriction software I am not aware of and cannot see running? About to clean wipe PC, but wanted to check with all of you as to why one PC running vmix is solid feed no studder or stand stil thru NDI and another on same network is totally crisp.

All speed tests on trouble PC are SOLID.

Have you tried using NDI tools to play a clip out of VLC on one system and receive it using NDI monitor on the other? Test to try other software to see if they are affected.

When you get the properties of the Ethernet interface, it does appear running at gigabit speed?

Thank you for the response, here is what I have from testing my PC specs, I built to be as robust as possible for mixing without SLI. Something beyond CPU, GPU, solid RAM, and xx99 top end motherboard needed?

Nvidia Geforce 1080x and a build around a I-7 6850K.

I did the VLC test and studdered like mad like in VMIX.

I had tested both adapters and both were great for speed tests at 110 down and 7+ up. I have tested both with NDI tools VLC into the monitor with same studder. Then I mistakenly made 3 changes at once in a troubleshooting mistake. I took the Ethernet cable out of the switcher for the network to all PC's and plugged it into the modem directly as it acts as a router as well, change one, and went back to the MB adapter instead of the one I just installed to see if my adapter on the MB was bad, change two. I also went into configuration properties on the MB intel and in value tab made it force 1GB instead of auto detecting, change 3... Restarted the computer as the adapter was not being identified on the dynamic network (maybe a 4th kinda change too with a new IP involved int e mess...) as an IP and now all is fine. I have had an "all is fine for a while after restarts though...so here is to hoping. If it comes up, which my experience of the last 4 weeks of troubleshooting this is it will, then I will be back, but for now thanks for the help with these tools!

Is the switch a gigabit switch or a 100M switch?

Well I didn't want you to "test" your specs - these online tests are only made for geeks/gamers wanting to show off they have a bigger dick! ;o) - this is useless here. Just indicate here all your hardware elements:

- motherboard precise model
- CPU
- graphics card
- network interface
- etc...

Also as Tom suggested your switch model and your router model. Precise references...

Lastly, as you seem a little confused on IP configuration, try to tell us how is your network managed. DHCP settings? IP range ?

Describe your general setup the best you can, please.

Thanks for your response! We are right back to where we were yesterday, still moving like picture frames...
Not my intent on the test, but the assumption that studder is a hardware maxing out issue is a good one, and so I thought that is what you were after rather than a simple hardware inconsistency.

Again on this note works fine on one computer and not another.

Would you like me to go thru all the ethernet properties setting or anything specific in the windows network properties?
I copied what CMD tells my in IPconfig, but there are a ton of options in windows properties tab. I can also go into router/modem and get configs too if needed?

Removed some IP's as I was not sure if it was dangerous to share. Any other setting you need to see?

Cat 5 cables are only 100mbps. You should be running cat5e or cat 6 for NDI. Please confirm what you have there. Your GS108 and the Hitron will switch down to 100mbps if they detect cat 5 cable. It will deliver 1 gig if it sees the other.

The other thing to try is take the Hitron out of the mix and see if the same issue occurs.

Apologies on the mix up, they are cat5e. I will make a network without ISP involved and modem, see what happens.

Your hardware is OK. It should work fine.

The only thing I can think of is the X99 chipset motherboard which seems to be problematic for many users. But this is not certain.

As of the network setup, just to make sure the speed is OK, try to copy a large file like 20 GB from one computer to the other and back. If your network is OK, you should go over 100MB/s or close (depending on your harddisks i/o capacity). If you confirm this, the issue is not network related.
