Hello,

I'm new to the forums so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to address this. I've searched the forums for this, but I can't find it.

Our church has an old beamer system with the 4:3 aspect ratio. Zooming an overlay works, but leaves me with bars at both sides: https://gyazo.com/0fe56aca53b936be1c05d2d2aa1ac55a

Is it possible to execute a trigger on the overlay zoom and zoomout? Triggering a black background is good enough to fix this.

Could this be implemented or is there a fix to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

here's some solutions

- instead of overlaying your 4:3 slides over your 16:9 camera input, just switch to it using a transition effect. vMix will sort of add black borders

- create a black input and use the multiview feature to add your beamer's presentation capture as overlay #1
now when you use this input (as an overlay like you seem to be doing), you have black borders

- if you want to improve your production, you can also use a nice background image maybe with your church logo/design and use it to create a multiview where you can associate side to side your camera feed (smaller) and your presentation slides (larger). This way your video is always in the 16:9 aspect ratio

Hope this helps

@ guidogast

Are you able to set the Beamer Capture Input to "Widescreen"?
(cog wheel->General->Aspect Ratio->Widescreen)
Or does that distort the image too much?

Thanks for replying, much appreciated!

The reason for me to put it in the New Feature part of the forums is because I think this would not only fix my issue, but also improve the software. There aren't so much triggers, so to add a couple wouldn't hurt I guess. (OnOverlay1ZoomIn, OnOverlay1ZoomOut etc.)

@DWAM Thanks for the suggestions. But the beauty of the zoom effect is something I like to use in the productions. I could obviously transition to the full screen, but using the zoom option is a bit more appealing and looks more professional.

@Icestream I tried it today but the image gets too distorted indeed.

@ guidogast

I'm not sure I understand the request now...
I'm not opposed to having more "Trigger" options, I just don't fully understand what behavior you are seeking to achieve here, particularly, the ZoomIn and ZoomOut references.
The 'Overlay1' transition IN and OUT is established in the "Overlay Settings" (Overlay button at lower right of GUI).
The "Trigger" command for that Input when overlaid would be "OnOverlayIn".
So are you asking to have a specific feature to change the 'Overlay1' transition effect for a specific Input (say from a Global setting of Fade to Zoom effect for just that Input)?
Please clarify.
