Just downloaded the free trial version. Is it possible to use a presentation clicker to advance PPT slides and use this as an input item?

I have read the documentation and it is still not clear. Can someone at least point me in the right direction?

The easiest solution is to play PPT on another computer on the same LAN with any device to control the presentation. Then run vMix Desktop Capture on this computer in order to add NDI Desktop Capture input in vMix.

@ WilliamJo
AFAIK, no, a presentation clicker will not work within vMix's PowerPoint Input module, nor do the "PowerPoint Transitions" within the presentation when used as an Input in vMix. However, you can use "Shortcuts" to advance (or reverse) the slides {NextItem or NextPicture}. The alternative, as DWAM mentions above, is to use vMix Desktop Capture NDI from the presentation computer running PowerPoint, whereby, all is captured including transitions and control is in the hands of the presenter. Hope that answers your question.

I use a presentation clicker everyday within the vMix Power Point module. It is true that the transitions that you may have created in the Power Point program itself will not work.

So, the NDI capture program is run on the other computer that has the PPT running? Thanks to all for the help.

@ samrikard
Good to know, thanks. Does it work "as is" with vMix or does it need some sort of set-up (like a MIDI controller)? Also, do you think any "clicker" will work or is it a particular brand? (I really have no knowledge of PPT clickers)

hi ice, just check my website for some powerpoint presentations recorded with vmix. i use it all the time. www.watertv.nl i set up my own local wifi, connected to my recorder vmix machine and the laptop can be anywhere, usually on the stage. sometimes i do it for my clients. i also provide the powerpoint clicker. TIP: logitech has a new one with a vitual ponter that vmic desktop capture can see and you can record. it needs to be preinstalled though thats why i bring my own laptop with powerpont and connection with vmix. be aware that double wifi will slow things down like transitions, so better to have one end, pref the vmix machine wired to the wifi router. or a direct cable connection can be used. this will give the best results. stefan .
