Hi All,

First time posting on here. I've got a little problem with my system.

I've been putting togther a system over the past few weeks and I'm generally very impressed with the program. The only issue I'm having is that Vmix always freezes and becomes completely unresponsive when I have to restart due to a settings change and very often when I just want to shut it down. I end up having to kill it in the task manager.

I've searhced the forum but I can't find anything that matches my problem.

Render time is around 2ms, CPU vmix around 8%, toal CPU aroun 16% when using all of the below equipment.

Windows 10
I7 4770k
32GB Ram
Asrock z87 Extreme9 AC mobo
Asus GTX 1050TI Graphics card

Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini recorder
Elgato HD60s
Blackmagic Decklink 4k
Matrox MX02 LE
Logitech Brio Webcam
Tascam 16x08 audio interface
Akai APC40 Midi controller

Hi,

Unfortunately the Tascam has a driver issue on some systems that results in the application freezing after it has been used.
To test this is the cause in your instance, try running vMix without any Tascam inputs and without it configured under Settings -> Audio Outputs

If it closes correctly, then unfortunately the Tascam cannot be used with vMix.

Martin

Yep, thats seems to be the problem.

I have two questions now. Firstly, is that the only problem that it will cause? If so I cna live with that because it's perfect for my needs oitherwise. If not, if there's a more serious compatibility issue then can I ask what would have similar spec but which has been tested more Vmix?

I bascially need at least 10 inputs and two outputs ideally in a one or two U rack. I'm alos hoping to do all audio mixing within Vmix via midi control from the APC40.

Thanks so much for your prompt response.

Hi,

We have only ever seen this issue occur with the Tascam audio drivers, so moving to any other USB ASIO audio interface
such as from Behringer, M-Audio etc should work well.

For reference we use and recommend the Behringer UMC404HD, if you need rackmount with more inputs, then the UMC1820 would be my pick.

Martin

OK, thanks Martin. I'll return it and get the Beringer, probably.

Thanks so much for getting back to me.

Also, I don't know if you can help with this one, I have a logitech Brio coming in at 1080p/30 which freezes after a few minutes. It comes back after I reset the input but I means I can't use it for broadcast.

I don't think it's due to bandwidth or power because I've got it plugged in to the front set of USB3 sockets which have their own connector to the motherboard.

Any idea why?
