Just bought vMix after testing version 8 and cant find EXTERNAL button? I dont need vMix streaming. Please help, I have event in 12 hours :(

edit: I can't get the idea. If I stream using build in stream window, than image apears in FMLE. but I have to use bandwidth to send signal to FMLE?

If I'll uninstall and instal version 8 will key work?

To start External, button is at bottom of screen in the middle. Click START to activate. See help file search for External.
As long as you have a projector connected to the secondary head of video card you should see output when selecting Sxternal button.
The built in streaming interface means you don't have to run FMLE this interface send information to FMLE on its own
Again all this is covered in help file.

I've made small update to the vMix 9 release to fix an issue with Streaming Authentication.
A direct link to the download is below as the main download page may take a while to update.

http://www.vmix.com.au/download/vmix9.exe (Version 9.0.0.123)

There is no START button nex to EXTERNAL, as it was in 8 version.
But I need FMLE for multiple streaming, build in interface also don't have options which FMLE have.

Lzrd,

Sounds like your screen resolution is set to low.
vMix 9 requires a screen resolution width of at least 1280 to see all of the options, so please try increasing your display resolution.

Hi Martin

Following up on my post in the 'preview 9' thread:

Tested rtsp input from wowza 3.5.2 yesterday all day, was running fine. Next morning video video was frozen again like last time, no errors, checked the inputs and it looks like there was some audio buffering going on overnight: http://share.world-telev...32-vmix_rtsp_buffers.jpg

I then stopped the wowza stream, the rtsp input in vmix kept playing audio, buffers counting down. Once I started the stream again on wowza, audio buffer was stable again (didn't build up or down). Running the stream again now and it doesn't seem to build up the audio buffer, I'll keep an eye on it, but so far I've only seen this behaviour when running the stream over night.

Scratchy, how long were you running the tests for?
After a maximum of 12 hours the timestamp in the RTP stream wraps around back to zero.
vMix 9 will stop the feed once this occurs. Looking at that screenshot, sounds like the case here.

Do you need to run RTSP streams for long periods of time normally? If so I can look at implementing a fix for this time limit.

Martin

Hi Martin

Ah, it starts to make sense now. Yes, it's over 12 hours, that seems to be the reason then.

Would be great if a fix to overcome this limit could be implemented. We do go over this limit for test runs and every once in a while for live transmissions as well.

Thanks,

Tom

We're using vMix 9 this Sunday. So far, recording to WMV seems to be in much better sync. I haven't been able to review this video yet, but I will ASAP.

I do notice, however, that When I recalled a preset, it didn't hold the screen capture settings I had setup for the remote desktop capture.

On the beta release vMix DID hold the desktop capture settings and that was very useful, because I have to set up specific position settings on the screen capture due to using a double wide monitor setup.

Is that something you can bring back?

Audio still not in sync with wmv recording. It looks like audio is ahead of video, though. That's somewhat easier to fix in post, but I'm trying to avoid having to edit in post due to expectations that the sermon be online right away.

This is three Intensity Pro cards with one set to capture audio and video and the other two capturing only video. All SD video right now.

Hi Jeremy,

The desktop capture settings are still saved in presets, no changes have been made.
Please email your preset to info@vmix.com.au for further investigation.

As for audio delay, if it is a fixed audio delay you will need to set the audio delay in the recording settings
prior to starting the recording. If you are using different audio and video sources this will be normal as there is no way
for vMix to know what the delay is. Once you set it in the recording you won't have to set it again.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

So this new release now makes vmix compatible with some ip cameras? And if so do you have a list of known comptible cameras? Looking forward to taking the newest release for a test drive.

Thanks,
Brad
