Ok here is the situation. I want to create live video broadcast with a studio of 2-3 cameras.
I also want to be able to include a remote camera or 2...say..on the other side of town. Kinda like
the man on the street providing live news happenings, interviewing people, etc....maybe using an iphone?
First, is this possible with vMix?
Second, I want to stream live to Facebook?
Third, I'd like to stream live to Youtube at the same time as Facebook?
Third, would # of viewers be a factor in bandwidth? If so, how to overcome?
If vMix cannot do all of the above, how would you accomplish the above?
I've downloaded the evaluation copy 0f vMix but have not looked at it yet.
PS: I am currently playing with OBS. Doesn't quite fit the bill.

1) Yes, it is possible using vMix, with the remote camera via the vMix Call feature. The only negative is that you can't currently use an iPhone (due to iOS limitations) and have to use an Android or Windows device at the remote end.
2) Streaming to facebook is supported
3) ...and you can stream to YouTube
4) Number of viewers does not affect your upload bandwidth requirements because it's the CDN (YouTube or Facebook) that deals with the extra bandwidth requirements as the number of viewers increases.
So I think that pretty much covers your requirements does it not?

Hi Ray and welcome to the vMix community
Yes as Zenvideo said, vMix is the perfect tool for your expectations (and much more).
You will need a good internet connection however... This is the only thing vMix doesn't provide! ;o)

Guillaume Thanks zenvideo and Guillaume. My local connection here is 110 Mbps download/12Mbps upload. Is that sufficient? And to be clear, the remote I am talking about would be an Android phone using the provider network (AT&T, T-Mobiile, etc.). My question is how does the Android access the vMix broadcast? vMixCall uses WebRTC protocol.
The caller needs to access the Internet (vMixCall website) type in the provided password and the bidirectional communication is delivered through the webpage.
Very similar to a Skype call only it's not an app for your phone.
I was also going to suggest Skype as an alternative for iOS devices since they do not yet support WebRTC but you have already confirmed you won't be using an iPhone.

You don't need anything else than a valid vMix licence - HD = 1 call - 4K = 2 calls - Pro = 8 calls The website vmixcall.com is the only "entrance" required for the service to work. It's provided as a free service. You just have to give your remote guests (or your reporters) this address and a unique code to join your production. Check it: https://vmixcall.com/ You can try this with the 60 day free trial aswell as all the features of vMix. The trial version is the Pro version with no limitations. Have fun! Guillaume

Guillaume Just know that I am new at this and enjoy experimenting with WebRTC mostly. Broadcasting has my interest. I did download, but I want to hold off until I get some new phones. I am using a Nokia Win 8.1 mobile phone. And locally, I use a Logitech USB web cam and a Sony Handycam that connects through a Sabrent RCA Composite to USB grabber. Once you stop laughing, can I use these with vMix? :) Ray

I'm not laughing at all, I have a Nokia Lumia C925 too! They don't work for vMix Call unfortunately (requires Chrome or Firefox)
You can use this webcam for sure. The Sony might also work but only in SD I guess and I'm pretty sure you will face audio desync issues due to this grabber. Maybe time to upgrade? A cheap Sony camcorder with HDMI out is a better option. But this is another subject. This should not prevent you from testing vMix. You will find many other solutions in the forum for alternative cameras.
