Now if we can get NDI as input and output sources in FFMPEG, we will have something awesome. :-)

Yeah! It's also very interesting for post-production and IsoCorder will become a real solution for multi source recordings that we can work with.

Now just need VLC 3.0 (or whatever is next with updated FFMPEG libraries) to come out!

Just to clarify before folk get over-excited, the FFMPEG implementation is an SHQ decoder. Its not an encoder and it has no NDI functionality. The decoder does work great, but its only going to help you with files containing SHQ essence, or if you have SHQ data from somewhere else. so this is very useful for file based workflows.

Hi Mark
thanks for the clarification. SHQ decoding is what we miss so that's perfect. It will make it possible to use our NDI Isocorder files (directly in vMix or via VLC/NDI) or simply to transcode them to ProRes or DNxHD for post-prod.
Good! Guillaume

Good! Guillaume I am not familiar with what format Isocorder writes, but if they are media files containing SHQ data in any FFMPEG compatible wrapper (eg .mov), then yes, this FFMPEG implementation should be useful. For anyone interested in recording NDI directly into Pro Res or DNxHD (or other formats like MP4 H.264), then our own NDI Recorder may be of interest. It's currently Mac only in beta but it has been designed to easily port to Linux and Potentially windows if there is demand.
