What "tick" am I missing when setting up a ticker that will allow the text to connect front to back. currently the text will go across the screen but will not start over until the last of the text has scrolled off the screen. this leaves a large blank void following the text as it scrolls across.

One solution to avoid this behaviour is to click the play arrow in the ticker input before sending it to PROGRAM with an overlay. This way you can wait till the line is almost filled before showing it and as it loops, viewers still have the time to read.

I Think OP is referring to the Space at the end of the text before the text is shown again instead of it being seemingly continuous (no space between repeats)

Ok sorry I understood the opposite!
Then a solution is to copy and paste the text multiple times in the text area so that this undesired effect is less visible.

They should be a way to create a "news" style ticker were the information just keeps looping with out any gaps.

Such things were traditionally the domain of dedicated CG systems. So, buy a license to Chyron's Lyric software. Use that to create the ticker, bringing it into vMix via NDI. Not cheap. But works every time. Also affords the opportunity to dynamically update the ticker from live data.
