Hi John
I think you got confused. I just watched your video and realized that you're setting HDMI OUT on the Intensity in order to get HDMI IN working with a GoPro thru this capture device. This makes no sense!
First I wanna say that GoPros are really tricky to work with for live production and I believe most of your problems come from the GoPro settings and not the card.
Second, what you explain here, to set the HDMI OUT on the card has absolutely no effect on inputs in vMix. This OUT setting on the card is only useful when you want to use it as an external renderer for vMix. This is what Xaver tried to do, I think he also got confused.
Third, when you want to use such a card for external rendering, you can set the out resolution specifically for the external renderer in vMix. So you can have a 1080p25 or 1080p30 project for vMix and set the external renderer to 720p. Yes it has to match setting in BMD Desktop Utility for HDMI OUT but this setting is to be chosen depending on the final display, not the source origin. For example, you would set external renderer and Intensity to 720p HDMI OUT only if your HDMI monitor doesn't support 1080p.
Regarding your video, it is clear that you want to capture a GoPro into vMix with an Intensity.
The tricky part is that GoPro HDMI OUT is messy. It only supports some OUT modes (and not all of them) and doesn't show the correct information. When you select 1080p50 for GoPro out, it actually outputs 1080i50. This is really a source of confusion.
I'm pretty sure your problem is GoPro related. How did you set your GoPro HDMI OUT?
Guillaume

Hi Guillaume I tried many things with the Intensity Shuttle and a GoPro Hero 3+ the Intensity is set to 720p50 and also MediaExpress and vMix first I tried the Intensity with MediaExpress, Recording from a GoPro: OK playout the recorded file with the Intensity: OK then I tried the Intensity as an input in vMix (with the GoPro): OK then I closed the input (also the GopPro) and tried to use the Intensity only as output for vMix in that moment I press EXTERNAL, the monitor on the shuttle flashes with on picture and get black BMD Videoassist shows also black and recognized 720p50

Hi Xaver
this is a totally different issue than John's who uses this card for input only.
I don't have this card so I can't help. I only know this card is known to work correctly only with USB3 NEC chipsets. You should create a new topic for this issue, using the intensity as an external renderer
