I am trying to figure out a way to assign a keyboard to a specific usb output in vmix. That way if you had two keyboards plugged into one pc one could be configured for shortcuts and the other would work as normal

Hi! I don't think you can: both keyboards will act as one. As soon as a shortcut for keyboard is created, any keyboard used on this computer will trigger the shortcut. The solution is to use a Midi Controller, for example the Akai APC Mini or many other models on the market. I did a video showing what can be done with such a device. https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=9765Another solution is to use the KeyPress function from a remote computer. A software like vMix UTC lets you do that very easily. Check this post about this: https://forums.vmix.com/...ts&m=37207#post37207Hope this helps Guillaume

Thanks DWAM for the tip I have not researched using a midi controller and I don't know the size "footprint" of such a controller or the cost. Our church is just getting starting with the live-streaming setup. We have a couple of keyboards laying around and didn't know if there was a way to set that up. We are editing our lower thirds fly so have a "normal" keyboard is important.

The Akai Mini costs around $70 in Europe. This one is about 25x25cm. It's more expensive than a regular keyboard but still very affordable. Besides it has faders and pads which are very handy to work with.
If you only want to update your titles and basic stuff, you can also use vMix WebController which has a tab for trigerring shortcuts and another one to manage titles.
One more thing, when you assign a keyboard shortcut, it is not active when you open a vMix window. For example if you open Title Editor, you can type without trigerring your shortcuts.

Wow Doggy that is some reading, seams very complicated for someone who is not a programmer. Will vmix do something like this in the background?

Autohotkey basically can intercept any keystroke, mouse click, window states, and lots of GUI goodies etc while you can than instruct it what to do with it (like change it into another keystroke , manipulate it . Can be very simple to very complex, it's very powerful.
I once used it to program the mouse buttons (and their combinations) to replace screen button presses and keyboard shortcuts for a video analysis coaching software package as this didnt have the mountain of possibilities vMix has ( wide range of shortuts, api calls, scripting language etc )
In the case of your wish with vMix i would follow DWAM his advice with a Akai Mini or alike , will save you a lot of learning and programming . in case of an idea that is not possible this way or with UTC or vMix options one can ultimately revert to a script with autohotkey which i sometimes do fro quick and dirty functions or interceptions
