Hi,

I am considering offering the feature where vMix can output to a virtual capture device. This device can then be selected in any video casting software to broadcast on the web etc.
Is this a feature people are interested in?

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

This would be very cool!

It would be nice if the virtual device could be located on another machine on the network and connected via IP. That way, FMLE for example, could be in the server rack, while the video production machine running vMix could reside in the control room. This would not only seperate the 2 processes, but would lessen the load on the vMix machine. I know that this is opening a whole new can of worms, so I understand if it is impractical.

Thanks for great job you have done on vMix!!

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately moving the data over a network would require too much bandwidth, or would require compression which would place a burden on the vMix machine anyway.

For this scenario the best option would be to output to an Intensity Pro (through HDMI, Component etc) using the DeckLink feature in vMix, and then input that to the other machine through another capture device.
