So sometimes your producer may not be able to get in or may be located somewhere else for whatever reason. so I wanted to see if using an apcmini that we already use to control the show could be used by a producer remotely using nothing more than a small laptop.

here is the video:

we connected the remote persons apc mini to his laptop.
we than used a program called flexihub ( a usb over ip program) to link it to our vmix system. now there are 2 apc minis on the system, one locally and one on james computer on the other side of the world.
we then configured a vmixcall with the output set to show multiview and gave james the password
james connected in and can now see the multiview display and hear us, a simple connection setting and he can even talk to the host in his ear using bus A without his audio going out live
James can now control the show from the apc mini and it keeps in sync with the one here with no noticeable lag or delay so the transitions are seamless and timely.

Tim, this could be another feature with a few changes to the code you already have . a remote producer interface
thanks 3 users thanked cruiseweekTV for this useful post.

Interesting demo! Congrats!

Did you consider simply giving access to port 8088 (Web Controller) to James ? A simple port forward is enough to make it work

nice demo.

just curious about your picture frame in the back: is that a greenscreen?

if yes: is it active green ( lighted ) or just a passive green piece / plate

if no: is that your view out of your house?

Happy to have helped with the demo. Built-in USB over IP in Vmix would be nice ;)

its a green screen. i just took a picture, removed the glass and the frame and got some green card form the local craft store and put it in. during our shows we change that picture to whatever the topic is we also use the merge function to zoom out of the picture to full screen for a better look ect

yet another great test using virtualhere.com which is FREE for 1 connection to use the apc mini, no delay as usual and it is FREE for 1 decive. the SERVER needs to be on the apc mini side and the CLENT needs to be on vmaix end and you do need to map the ports but it works

Yeap works great. Need Port 7575 TCP and 5353 UDP open on the server side and local so that they can talk to each other. FlexHub works both ways where you can still use the device with vmix locally but with virtualhere your local vmix can't see the device as its on use. Virtualhere is $39 USD for 3 devices to 1 server and unlimited devices for $49 USD. Free for 1 device.
