Hi all,
After all the questions about firewire devices I thought I give my old Sony TRV116E camcorder a try using firewire. It all works smoothly, no problem - so I have an extra option to use.

But: I don't know how to disable the auto standby after 5 minutes of 'no recording'I can not find any setting to disable it. Does anybody ave an idea how to turn this option off so I can use the camcorder as a recording device?

greetings
Stefan

Hi Melody,

Thanks: this solves the issue (only had to disable the demo mode).

Now I can persue this line of low-form factor sollutions for capturing. Just need to find a suitable (720p) camera with firewire.

It's a problem firewire is replaced with USB and USB3 and not with an HDMI input source (these are all output). So you need extra components like BM USB3 shuttle that are tricky to get going. I am exploring a simple start system for mobile capturing using as little components as possible and haveing an acceptable quality (720p).

Thank you and greetings,
Stefan
