Using vMix daily, we have a strict time restraint before our production has to end and the staff has to leave. After using vMix for over a year now, I've really stepped back and looked at the interface itself and I can't help but notice that big empty gray space just below the T-bar, between the preview and output windows and above the inputs themselves. After thinking it through I would think this would be a really great spot to not only put a clock of the current time, but also an automatic countdown to the time of your choosing (image attached for representation) Not sure if anyone else could get use out of a feature like this, but it could greatly help our production. mneth2000 attached the following image(s): Clock Example.jpg (160kb) downloaded 20 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. This is a very helpful feature especially when using different vMix machines in a production. All operators will have same information once they entered time information (e.g. start of event).
A nice "add-on" would be if you could enter some alarms then, too. Example: 30 Minutes before show starts a certain playlist has to start on all screens. A little reminder could pop up at this time so any operator could start the playlist from the dedicated machine.
Regards Karsten

Hi in a multi computer environnement, you can already use this free tool and send it to all crew with NDI or display it on a screen monitor on the wall http://www.pixap.fr/products.php?ref=7It's also very easy to set a countdown timer as an input Guillaume

+1 Again, as Ice points out. Ihis is an ooold request and I can't understand why it's not in vMix already given that live means time critical. Yes, you can have clocks on the wall. BUT, in most of the venues we produce these clocks are really off. Yes, you can have a clock/timer app running on your PC. BUT, then it has to be always on top and in the way for other windows. Yes, there is a clock Title. BUT, we don't need an Input - we need a clock (a tiner would be nice). Regarding mneth2000's suggestion for position of the clock, it is sort of competing (or supporting) with the feature request Overlays Tally and current Time below the T-Bar.

Regards Karsten +1 Better still having the option of a `time of day' trigger on each playlist item would create a very accurate automation playout system.

i have asked for this feature before and there was some debate about it. ofcourse it is possible to use additional programmes, but having it baked in to vmix would be great.
maybe a settings option would alow for a choise of options to display in that space: clock timer recording time remaining disk space alarm (start livestream, start commercial etc)

Thank you DWAM for the alternative but something as simple as a clock within a software built for live production shouldn't require any third party software involvement. Some features just can't be patched.
