HI there, brand new..just downloaded the software for a trial.
My main question is can you record 4 HD-SDI inputs at once in multicorder
mode using the Decklink quad? In other words, hit one record button
and start recording 4 clips in sync..? Or does multicorder
only let you switch between four inputs while recording?

Also, has anyone tried (2) Decklink Quad cards for (8)
simultaneous HD-SDI record clips at once? Of course on a screaming system

Still unclear here however, my apologies for any confusion..
My question is :
Does Vmix allow you to record 4 individual clips SIMULTANEOUSLY, each coming
from a separate input, by simply hitting the "record" button one time.

I want to record a live event from 4 (or more ) cameras and then
edit those 4 angles (recorded clips) later on an edit system.

I don't have vMix Multicorder but, as I understand it, you can record 4 separate inputs to four clips simultaneously.
Subject to PC spec, of course, or number and speed of hard disks, or SSDs more likely.
The "trigger" control is likely to be similar to the record option, which is not simply a button to hit, as I'm sure you have discovered.

Recording to cameras is certainly an option and a sensible back-up back-up plan ........ BUT .......

1) my cameras cannot record at 50 mbps MPEG so there would be a drop in quality.

2) access to cameras to change tape or cards is not always possible except between music sets.

Thanks for the link to pluraleyes. I've heard of it, and had always meant to try it, but old habits die hard .... old dogs etc.
I rely on the time-tested method of lining up the audio. I can hear 2 frames difference on most audio, then just slide it back and forth until I give up trying to "see" the difference. It doesn't take long ;-)
