I built an external controller and I think it could be very useful to add in shortcuts the function setdefaulttransition. In this way I could assign to different buttons different transitions and when I press the button for example with transition fly, when I use the T-bar or auto button, the transition will be fly until I'll change the default transition.

I thought this would have already been possible, but I couldn't find a way to do it.
@ spino
Nice job on the Control Surface, any thoughts of using 'lighted' buttons?

Ice Yes I'm thinking to add retroilluminated buttons but to do that I need to use tally lights and the problem is that tally lights in Vmix work perfect with Arduino Uno but doesn't work with Arduino Mega as you can see here:

Great job seeing customisation of vMix like this and the fact that vMix is open to it. For tallies and also other status I'm thinking of using the Activators stream to the midi device and decoding this as the midi protocol is quite simple. Here's a panel I scored for $200. I can barely lift it so it will be cut into thirds as that is all I need. I plan to replace the incandescent button lights with RGB leds and the knobs with rotary encoders. This only had 7 keyers, around $450K in SD composite. https://www.google.com.a...#imgrc=-RhNK0_j4scYFM%3AThe GVG 200 and 100 panels had a serial interface. This 200 looks like it has been modified as they were never that colourful - Here's a GVG 100 that now works with BMD ATEM mixers - http://www.ebay.com.au/i...c7587:g:NKwAAOSwdzVXv3fO

I worked on Grass Valley switchers during my work life and all the models are great. At the upper right corner you can see exactly the body of my future request at the beginnig of this thread. Replacing incandescent bulbs with RGB leds means three contacts every led (the forth is common) and it means a lot of resources and controller pins.

Replacing incandescent bulbs with RGB leds means three contacts every led (the forth is common) and it means a lot of resources and controller pins. $200 for the panel, I didn't want the rack anyway. GVG owned that market and are still the best but a bit pricey compared to Sony. The 300 was the first with up and down ME re-entry, that would have been complicated in analogue. Is it not possible to trigger a shortcut that defines the transition type and not use the default ? Your interfacing to vmix via usb?, I'm thinking of emulating midi which is more mindless but easier for me. For the leds I'll use several MAX7219 led drivers that do 64 leds but they're com cathode. It may not be possible to put 5mm rgb leds inside the buttons but possibly next to the button underneath. http://tronixstuff.com/2...9-led-display-driver-ic/You can do all those wipes and more in vMix by making mattes but it's a bit tedious to setup - http://forums.vmix.com/d....aspx?g=posts&t=6706Like your work.

It is possible in Vmix to assign a transition to a button but I didn't find the way to set a transition as default in shortcuts. I use Midi over USB. I was thinking to use a multiplexer to add more leds but I must find a way to insert the code in standard firmata that is the code for tally lights. I thought to put the leds below the buttons as you said but i'd like to use retroilluminated buttons: I'm searching them.

Thank you Guillaume. Yes, I knew skaarhoj and I saw his video about Vmix controller. Actually, at the moment, I just need to find retroilluminated buttons and waiting for the subject of this thread and Arduino Mega issue. As soon as theese problems will be solved I think to build a new and more professional board to control Vmix. I keep my fingers crossed. Lino.

+1 on this request. I had previously submitted a request for something similar but the thread didn't gather much of a response. I still think shortcuts for SetTransition1, SetTransition2, SetTransition3, and SetTransition4 would be great (with "SetTransition1" being equivalent to your "SetDefaultTransition"). The shortcut's value would be equal to the desired transition ("Fade", "CrossZoom", etc). Another set of shortcuts that could be useful would be "SetTransition1Length" where the value would be the number of milliseconds the transition should take to complete.
