I'm trying the demo version of vMix 18 because I need a way to use a RTSP input in a program which doesn't support RTSP.

The program is UfoCapture. It's a program to detect meteors in the sky which doesn't support RTSP.

Here is a free evaluation copy:
http://sonotaco.com/soft/download/UFOHD2_4201.zip

When I set up vMix, it connects to my IP camera flawlessly, but when I try to use the vMix virtual device in UfoCapture, I get an error.

UM021: Resolution or Media type not matched

Resolution is OK (768x576 25fps, the same as in vMix), the error has to do with media type.

The program creates a log file (DxErrLog.txt), and it says:

error at 221 msg No combination of filters could be found to render the stream. hr 0x80040217
cx 768 cy 576 fps 25.000000
[video] 4:vMix Video [audio] NULL [codec] AVI(uncompressed) [format] NULL

I guess the problem has to do with the stream being compressed or uncompressed and UfoCapture expecting it otherwise. Or maybe has to do with the fourcc the software expects and can't find. I tried installing ffdshow but it didn't work.

Any ideas? I have tried everything.

First a quick view on the manual tells me the input resolution should be 720x576 for SD in UFOHD2

If still no good, I'd say it is a problem with the type of color space your software accepts... RGB ? YCbCr ? YUV ?

You can try your workflow replacing your RTSP input by a simple webcam...
You can also try this setup replacing your software by VLC or FFMPEG...

Try to read your RTSP device directly with FFMPEG, it will show you the type of signal you receive.

You also need to find out the type of signal this UFOCapture accepts.
