As per ccolewilliam's post here:
http://forums.vmix.com/d....aspx?g=posts&t=8578
and having received some support already, I am posting this Feature request, given the new support for Data Sources and auto updates to the Ticker:

It would be a lot more convenient to have the option of a consistent and steady scroll speed on the Ticker regardless of the length of the text document (or number of characters in the text field) or size of the text.
Perhaps something along the lines of seconds (or milliseconds) for a character (or pixel) to travel across the visible portion of the ticker on screen, thereby maintaining consistency from document to document when auto updating or changing.

any updates to the ticker is a plus +1^99 :) for how powerful vMix is i'm shocked how limited the ticker is and how bad it looks in terms of smooth quality compared to OBS and others

+1 for sure!! I would love to see a simple way to integrate data sources into a custom ticker that runs smooth and looks like it belongs on a professional broadcast.

Timing can become a pain in the butt, I use ChyronHego Lyric Pro a lot and crawl speed is always difficult to deal with unless you have a custom UI using their API that deals with them. It is based on node length and text string length. Using their API you fill the sample scene with data and have it crawl for x seconds then it will populate the crawl with that assumed time.

You can't change the speed of the ticker with that clock-symbol because the speeds is controlled by the ammount of text you have put in...

ammount of text combined with the little clock IN the title editor as mentioned before (if you change the default time there you get a change in speed )

In dedicated character generators the speed can be set using two methods:

- Total time for the text to transit the screen, expressed in minutes/seconds/frames.

- Rate of motion, expressed in pixels per frame.

You are right, my fault... did use it a long time ago and didn't remember the "clock" symbol in settings...
