Hello,
i just found some answers in the Search but never all together and really clear answered.
I know rendering times are a very important thing in livestreaming.
But what is a good rendering time when i have 1,2,3 or 4 cameras connected with SDI ? It increases when more inputs are connected to the computer and has to be stable?
And what is the Problem for the viewers when the rendering time is higher?

Merry Xmas I'd keep an eye on your CPU. If you run out of CPU headroom your streaming audio usually starts sounding like a CD Skipping. That is often the first sign you are overloading your setup. Followed by lower frame rates and then artifacts too when things get really bad. The goal in my opinion is to keep your TOTAL CPU < 60%. (not vmix cpu, total cpu). Then you usually end up with a good result.

For reference, "Render Time" is the time it takes for the graphics card in the system to process each frame of output. So for example if your production is 30 frames per second (~33ms per frame) and the render time is 15ms or less then you have plenty of headroom and you are not likely to see any dropped frames.
Causes of high render time can be due to slow graphics card and sometimes high CPU, as high CPU makes it harder to send video to the graphics card in a timely manner.
In rarer cases high render time can also be caused by a PCI express bottleneck, for example one customer recently had very high render times as a result of accidentally installing the graphics card in a x1 PCI express slot rather than the required x16!

Thanks Martin. That was the explanation i was searching for.
What resolution is meant for the rendering time? The incoming 1080i 50 from the cameras or the encoded 720p 25 which is send to the server?
When its 720p 25 what rendering time is perfect?

The resolution is the main resolution vMix is running in. Which is also displayed left of the render time. Render times under 20 msec are perfect.
