I've been doing some lag testing in vMix using a c270 as my baseline with near zero latency detected. I added my Amcrest IP2M-841B 1080p PTZ camera as a streaming input. This camera does not appear as an NDI camera until it has been added as an actual input. I then added the camera again, as an NDI input. I did a simple clap test, recording the output, and importing that into Vegas pro, and adding timecode to mark the clap.

The result is in this video...

So how is it possible for the NDI of the RTSP input to respond quicker than that same RTSP input? This means I need to add an additional input to increase the speed.
Also, why is that same RTSP input slower than the same RTSP feed in firefox? It looks to me like there is some kind of delay in the vMix RTSP feed that is bypassed when using NDI.

Just did another test with the vMix NDI along side my Firefox window. These are within 1 frame of each other when using a light as the trigger source. The light comes on in Firefox, and in one frame, comes on in vMix NDI.

Although this is much more responsive, I am still curious as to why the vMix stream is behind the browser stream.

You mention a RTSP stream in Firefox, and one in vMix. Are the stream in Firefox from a Admin panel or something like that? Perhaps it has a lower resolution, and therefore has a lower delay.

Cheers

It is the admin panel in Firefox, and is displaying the primary 1080 stream in both
