Hi
I tried to use a Hauppauge HVR-1950 capture device with vMix and I just get a general error every time. I know it's not my computer because I have another cheap capture device and it works fine. I'm not really sure why it doesn't work with this program because I have used it with win tv on the same computer and that worked fine,
Thanks Cameron

Here is what it said:
vMix Error- Capture Resolution is not supported by this device.
***In the text box*** The following are supported:
720x480 NTSC 59.94i or 29.97p
AddNewInput.The following are supported:
720x480 NTSC 59.94i or 29.97p
Unspecified error
I selected the settings recommended by this error but it still doesn't work.

Hi Cameron, Unfortunately this capture device is not supported as it does not provide a raw video feed. It internally compresses the video to MPEG-2 which adds a delay and is therefore not suitable for live video work. Have a look at the Supported Hardware page for some recommended options: http://www.vmix.com.au/supported-hardware.aspxRegards, Martin vMix

I'm getting this same error using a Blackmagic Intensity Pro. I am using two of those capture cards and both bring up the same error.
When I used VMIX with the Avermedia Video Capture Card, it worked fine with no error.
Any ideas of how I can get the Blackmagic card going?

Does the BM Intensity Pro comes with the Media Express software? if so, try it with that first, vMix will only see an image if it also works in ME. I found that the settings in ME must be exactly matching your input signal or it will not work. When you have an image in ME, quit it and start vMix and add the capture input that you had configured in ME. That worked for me (on my BM Quad).

Hi. Has anyone figured this out? I'm super disapointed. I bought the Blackmagic Intensity Pro because it is listed here http://www.vmix.com.au/supported-hardware.aspx But it gives me the same error. Can anyone help? I have the settings matched exactly in Media Express. Everything works great in Media express.

You can disregard my earlier post. I figured it out. I'm new to the Blackmagic card, and didnt realize there is a Blackmagic Control Panel where you can make all the changes! Works perfect now.
