Sorry if this question has already been discussed. Media delivered to my client must have the date and time superimposed during acquisition. My main camera has this ability but my back up cameras do not.
Can vMix add the date and time over the video image during recording. If so, how?
Thanks in advance

From the vMix Knowledge Base: http://www.vmix.com/knowledgebase/How do I insert the current date and time into a title? Most title templates included with vMix support inserting the current date and time into a Title text field using the following format: {0:dd MMMM yyyy hh:mm:ss tt} The letters above present time and date components such as Day (dd), Month Name (MMMM) and AM or PM (tt)

If you are having trouble, Try this
1: Create a new title in vMix. In your case I would use the basic "Text" title unless you like the look of some of the others. But the basic text will just give you the date/time stamp overlaid on your video.
2: In the Title EDIT settings paste the following {0:dd MMMM yyyy hh:mm:ss tt}
* make sure you include the brackets before and after the format {}
3: you can get the text to show by either using the overlay channels 1,2,3 or 4 and it will appear over your main camera shot.
Start with this and see if it works for you. also if you are having trouble, please explain what you have tried and what the results were and it will be much easier to get the problem sorted out.

I'm wondering what the determining factor is, as to whether the Text Field in the XAML file accepts the format or not? As you state, most (all) included vMix Title Templates work fine, but not the "Ticker" nor any of the third party Titles (animated) that I've tried (which I assume were made with Blend)...

That's interesting. I've never tried the ticker (but just did) and I'm not sure why it does that unless it is strictly a text field.
But the Time Stamp I posted above works on my animated titles from Blend. As well as my 3rd party titles from the past.

Is because the ticker and titles who don't accept this date format are using standard TextBlock's instead of the vMix TextBlockDesign that comes with the vMixTitleLibrary (hope I formulated this correctly)

trial and error ;-)
but one can always change the titles (TextBlock <> TextBlockDesign) although for a ticker having a date on it gives other issues i noticed (keep restarting). guess there might be a solution for it but haven't checked

Quote:"Timer" is the answer. and what does the text format say ? ;-P If I am not mistaken Martin created the "timer" title because the time format question kept popping up

Try "senile"... easier for people to live with. Yes, the mysteries of date and time are no longer mysterious.
