Would it be possible to add Title Safe and Picture safe boundaries for the Preview and Program windows. I'm thinking a simple "right-click" over the screen with a toggle on/off and make it mappable to a shortcut. Would help a lot! Thanks! + 1
Pretty sure this has been requested many times before and I'm not sure how "easy" it is to implement without impacting the current 'Overlay' channel structure/performance of vMix as it is only needed on the UI screens. I have suggested to place it onto the preview screen only if that is more feasible possibility, but in the meantime, the simple workaround is to use an existing "Title Safe" png graphic as an Overlay.

Ice It's a standard feature on the competition's software. Hopefully Martin will make this a priority. When professionals use a software and then is is missing an elementary feature that we'd expect to see it can turn them off to the product quickly. vMix is still the best even without Safe Margins but Perhaps vMix 19 will have Safe Margins! All the best and Merry Christmas.

Sorry about my ignorance but I thought this was beneficial because of displaying on (older) tv's etc . do modern tv's ( flatscreen) and monitors overall still have that issue ?

I'll give it another +1 on the new thread.
For those still waiting I guess and option is using a BlackMagic Video Assist or a Atomos Ninja type Recorder. I travel to different places and don't always have room to carry so much equipment. So just a Keyboard Shortcut/button to toggle on/off in the program out would be great.
They have them built in.
Yes new flatscreens have the issue for me. If you use a digital modulator for in house video and convert to essentially free to air type signaling I find different TVs also have slightly different margins. However the general safety margins are usually right.
Computer screens don't have the issue, but many people output to TVS and Projectors. Not all with good abilities for adjustment.

+1 We use Safe Areas everyday in production it's a necessary tool for professionals. I came to the forum to see how to enable it. I didn't realize that functionally was missing.
