@ roughpear
You might need to provide a few more details... What was the "Shortcut" you were attempting? What is your 'Set-up' with regards to the "Ticker" Input?

I assigned a keyboard shortcut to an audio inputs, c for clapping audience and d for cheering crowd. Everytime I hit any of those keyboard shortcuts, the ticker input, the text on it stops from crawling.

@ roughpear
There must be more at play here... What "function" did you use for each shortcut? Are there any "Triggers" or "Advanced" shortcuts being activated in the background? Are you able to provide a step by step instruction on how to replicate your setup so that the behaviour can be duplicated by someone else? Can you make a video illustrating the behaviour?

@ roughpear
Still not 100% clear... Not sure I understand why you are using the "Merge" transition to play audio effects, are there visuals associated with your audio tracks? The "Merge" transition acts like a "Fade" if there are no common elements between the two Inputs. How are you displaying the Ticker? I cannot duplicate your issue, unless, as near as I can figure, you are simply switching between Inputs and not using any "Overlay" channels, in which case if the Ticker is set to "automatically pause after transition", it will stop as soon as it moves to the "Preview" screen and the "Merge" transition completes. Can you describe exactly what happens on your "Program" and "Preview" screens when you execute the "Shortcuts" you've set up?
