Good day Martin and the vMix team (Big up yu self, that's how we say it in my country)
Let me start by commending you guys on the wonderful work that you have been doing over the years, P.S. Can't wait for version 18 to be release.
My humble request is this, can you include a separate Audio recording function into vMix so that while we are recording to the hard drive in Mpeg, or Mp4, Wav, etc we can also record at the same time if we choose to (Option) in Mp3 or wav format.
At Church there are some services that we do not video record but we would like to use the audio for many other purposes.
What i am thinking is that while we are doing video recording in other services (the video with embed audio), at the same time there will be an additional audio file generated alongside the video file that already includes the embed audio. this would be very time saving since we wouldn't have to bother with extracting and encoding the audio from the video file for producing CD's and things like Podcast, etc.
I hope i am explaining clear enough, Thanks though keep up the awesome work with vMix.
Regards

Have you tried running an audio recording program such as Audacity, Sony Sound Forge Studio, or some other basic, low cost software simultaneously with vMix just to record audio?

If i'm not mistaken, I've seen a feature to record a wav file in vmix 18. I think this is already a great step forward. Still it would be cool if audio recording could be started and stopped independent from the video recording. This way for example a single song from a concert or a speech in the middle of an event could be recorded in audio only seperatly, without encoding, cutting or editing.

I recently began using this record as a WAV file feature while doing video recordings and streaming. However, it would make sense to have more than just WAV file format to record too, else I still have to convert it, plus it's not file size efficient compared to other formats. It makes more sense to have a small mp3 file size written once, than 300mb WAV file written all to have to convert it to mp3 anyway. Is there a chance we could add MP3 capability? It would make my life at church in the sound room mucho easier ;) Thanks! -B
