Hi, I would like to suggest that an intercom to be included on NDI protocol so we could communicate to the cameras running NDI app on cellulars.

I have tested sending NDI signals to a separate computer, and it is possible to receive audio from the cameras, without messing with the production, but would be good if we had a way to talk back to the camera guys by NDI.

So, you don't need any "NDI protocol" changes. You request for some kind of NDI audio monitoring app for smartphone.

Personally I'm surprised why there are 2 NDI camera apps (from Sienna and Newtek) and no NDI monitoring app.

BTW, looks like the bird-dog will have option to comunicate with cameraman. If I have understood right info on http://www.digi-box.co.uk/birddog/141-birddog (image below, "communicate smart" section).
Let's hope this device will be available ever... so far its almost 6 months late and more expensive...

That seems to indicate the user will have to already have an IP based communications system.
