hi martin,

first of all, these new updates on v8 had been amazing and vmix is working like a charm here. thank you for your dedication and creativity.
well, i have some sugestions for new version of vmix...

1. real-time noise reduction filter
2. manualy select quality of external output between "raw" or "uncompressed", "High Quality", "Middle Quality" and "Low Quality"
3. task scheduler, this could improve very long time productions.
4. manualy split button without stop the recording;

thank you martin for your attention, regards

Those are all good Melody, I'd like to add clip player to transition selections. Ability to play tga, png sequence or other files with alpha.
These are also known as stingers which are 30 to 120 frames sometimes longer but not offten. Also if we could associate a audio file (wav) that would be over
the top.

Hi Martin,

Sorry for repeating this request again and again... but I still hope it could be useful to anyone else, and so included in a future vMix version !

The request : a way to easily make manual controlled fade-to-black (because I need to perfectly suit the fade-out to live music, so I never know in advance if the fade duration will be 1, 2, 3 seconds...).
This could be :

- inside vMix interface : a video master fader;

and / or

- using an external controller :
* an API function which allows setting the "fade-to-black level";
* or an API function which allows setting the alpha level of each individual input (it would be easy to use it repeatedly to set the alpha levels of all the inputs at the same time, and so generate a fade-to-black effect).

Thanks for reading...

Emmanuel

The fade bar in vMix 8 is linked to the first transition button (after Cut).
Is that what you mean?

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for answering !

No, it's not really what I mean : this fade bar controls a "transition" (between two views); it's a great feature, but what I mean is a "fade-to-black" fade bar, to fade out (or fade in) all what is sent to the output. I mean : the same effect as the "FTB" button, but handed-controlled via a fade bar (to achieve progressive fade-to-black effects, synchronised with a live event, for example the last note duration from a live musician).

Is that clearer ?

Many thanks for reading !

hi martin and emmanuel,

maybe a good solution for emmanuel`s question would be the possibility to choose what button of available transitions can be controlled by fade bar including FTB.

Hi Martin,

i would be handy to have a button to start a new recording (file) on the fly. So without having to stop and start an ongoing recording.

greetings,
Stefan

Couldn't you have this effect by having a solid black input, which you fade to using the slider?

Yes, of course, but there are 3 limitations that are really problematic to me :

1- to do this I must first put my black input into the preview window
=> I can't use it at any time, the access to the function is not direct, which is not really convenient when operating with live events;

2- the preview window is then used for the black source
=> I can't use the preview window to prepare the next clip to play, setting the start position, etc. I would like to use vMix for live shows (i'm just testing by now), where I will not have many time between the end of a sequence and the beginning of the next one, it will be very difficult if I can't prepare the next clip while the previous one is playing.

3- I'd like to control this function via an external controller ("physical" fader)
=> as I tried to explain in another post (http://forums.vmix.com.au/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2903#post2903, but I'm afraid my english is not good enough and my explanations are too long... sorry), the behaviour of the vMix slider (which is a really smart feature by the way !) makes it difficult to control via a physical interface, since its position is reset to 0 when you reach the extreme point of its course.

But anyway, thanks for your help !

Emmanuel

I agree with all 3 points.
Emmanuel, what do you think about this idea: a "shift" or "ctrl" (or wathever key combination) used together with the slider would prevent it to reset to 0 ? I suppose it must be not too difficult to implement?

hi all,

in addition to feature requests...

- browser integration, directly connected to Internet explorer or other browser. the idea is add an input that just shows what browser show with possibility to send all browser sounds to vmix audio mixer

it would be handy if you could replace a photo / image without having to change the input.

I use a background image over an ovelay of capture and desktop capture inputs, with specific zoom and placement settings.

Now if I want to set-up a new project with a new background image I have to make a new image with custom overlay settings of the inputs.

If I have an image input that I can change, i can use a basic preset and change the image for the project I am doing.

Alternetively, it would be handy if i can save the overley settings and select them with a new image.

could it be possible to drag and drop a new file on the blank input? that feels more intuitive than dropping in the gray area.

similar, as h2video already asked: a dedicated frame / input that you can have open and every file that you drop on it will have the same "i" settings applied already.
This applies to speed settings as well.

One more suggestion: would it be feasible to have an input be freezed. This would be particulary handy with the desktop capture input. If you can freeze this input and then unfreeze when the input from the desktop is refreshed (changing or strting a video or powerpoint etc) this would be very handy when recording with multy views...

Hi Martin,

2 more "feature requests" for the next version, concerning the API functions :

* an API function to set the alpha level of an input (corresponding to the alpha slider in "Input settings" => "Colour adjust")

* an API function to set the playback speed of an input (corresponding to the "playback speed" slider)

Many thanks !
