Are there any tutorials or discussions on how to connect an onscreen ticker to an external web source?

We are live broadcasting election results tomorrow and I have crew inputting election results into our web site. I'm hoping I can grab a JSON or XML feed from our web site as the source for a scrolling results ticker.
