I've used the Magewell XI100DUSB HDMI USB 3.0 with a laptop that only had USB 2.0 and it worked. Not familiar with your JVC camera, but check the Menu Setup and see if there's a setting for Display On TV. If so, make sure it is set to ON.
Also, if your JVC has a HDMI Output setting, take it off of the AUTO mode. Then make sure the manual setting from the camera are matched in the Input settings on vMix.
Do you have any other capture software to verify the Magewell is working?

I am using JVC Everio GZ-E207BEK I followed your instructions made sure TV display is set to ON, the HDMI output set off instead of AUTO the only part do not get is manual from camera to set on vMix, the options are: -Sample Input,-vMix Video,-vMix Video External2 and X1100USB-HDMI video which is always blank even after playing up with set ups. Sorry I don't have other video capture. Thanks in advance.

This what the manual for your GZ-E207 camera says about the HDMI OUTPUT setting: Sets the output from the HDMI connector of this unit when it is connected to a TV. Setting - Details AUTO - It is recommended to select “AUTO” usually. 576p - Select this when the video is not output in “AUTO” correctly.
This what the manual says about the DISPLAY ON TV setting: Displays icons and date/time on a TV screen. Setting - Details OFF - Does not display icons and date/time on TV. ON - Displays icons and date/time on TV.From this I would conclude that the HDMI OUTPUT should probably be left on Auto, and that the DISPLAY ON TV setting will only affect the content on the external (HDMI) output, not whether it is generated or not. The two tests that I suggest should be done next are:- 1) Connect the HDMI output from the camera to a TV or HDMI Monitor using the same HDMI cable that's being used to connect to the Magewell dongle, to verify that a signal is coming through it. 2) If test 1 is successful, check the dongle (with camera connected) using Magewell's Dongle Helper software, which is available as a download from the Magewell website. (Video guide on YouTube - Using Dongle Helper)

The outcome of this was that Test-1 (above) failed - no camera signal over HDMI into a TV either - and the eventual solution was the purchase of a new HDMI cable, after which the camera signal was received by the dongle and in vMix.
The moral is probably to always check every part of the signal chain, and not just the last thing that was bought and added.

@zenvideo
Thanks for the follow-up and cause of problem because the Magewell XI100DUSB HDMI's seem to be rock solid, always on devices.
