Please add Attack and Release Times to the Audio Noise Gate.

This weekend I did a webcast of a sporting event on YouTube. The onsite audio had background music and the announcers mics. For the webcast, only the announcers mics were fed through the system. On the first day, some of the background music was picked up by the mics at a very low level that was barely audible, but with enough volume that the YouTube Content ID system flagged the video. On the second day, I attempted to use the Noise Gate feature to eliminate this low level background music. Unfortunately, I could never find a threshold setting where the announcers voices sounded natural. The Noise Gate was too aggressive at silencing the sound track in the middle of certain syllables of the announcers voices.

After the fact, I loaded the recorded video files into Sony Vegas and added their Noise Gate which has settings for Attack and Release times in milliseconds. With a little adjustment, I was able to get the voices to sound natural and eliminate the copyright offending background music.

YES!! That would be great. I had some issues with the noise gate. It would be great if I could fine-tune it.

It would be heaven if Steve Ots and Martin Sinclair become friends.
