It's working for me using Skype v7.27.0.101 I note that if I set the external output resolution quite low (320x240) Skype only sees the color bars proxy image.

While skype will show the video window in the camera selection settings however the moment Skype connects a video call the video from my end (I use vmix as a virtual camera) drops and gets the slash through it. Sadly this has driven me back to xsplit for now. Ken

Try initiating the call from the other side. In our tests this works more often that not regardless of Skype version.

Regards,
Martin vMix Martin, Merle and I tried your suggestion a little while ago and Skype still would not work for us. If you could show us how to get Skype working with vMix during one of your live shows that would be appreciated. For now we will continue to use ZOOM as it works very well for live conferencing. ~George

I've done some further research on this and it looks like certain Skype accounts won't work with vMix Video, but others will (particularly newer accounts). Simply logging in as another Skype account is enough to get it working again.
This is quite strange as you would think if it was a vMix Video issue it would affect all accounts.
Anyway, if someone is willing to test, try creating a new skype account and logging in as that to see if it works and confirm my theory...
Regards,
Martin vMix

Same issue with the 7.27.0.101 , when I call a friend I can't use my vMix external but other "virtual" camera works like the "Newtek NDI Video" camera.

Just posted vMix 17.0.0.112 which should fix the Skype issue. Sorry for the delay on this, it was a challenge to work out what was wrong since it works on some accounts and not others. If this update doesn't solve the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling vMix while all other applications are closed, reboot and try again.
Failing that drop us an email!
