It would be great if you could select more than one input category to display in the preview pane at once. In the preview pane, you could make a single click enable all inputs in a given category and a second click would deselect that category for being viewed. The ALL category would then clear all the prior selections and show all (an easy way to reset which are shown).

You could do this with virtual inputs. Also having shortcuts to select a category would speed things up.

Trying virtual inputs was a great idea but still didn't achieve what I needed. 1) virtual inputs do not work for some types of inputs such as Titles (titles literally duplicate the input instead) 2) virtual inputs clutter up the MultiView preview unnecessarily... a major negative All in all, I still think the most robust and simplest solution is to allow an input to be assigned to more than one category at a time. You wouldn't need to fool with virtual inputs to attempt the same thing and the multiview wouldn't be an issue either.

+1...
Selecting multiple categories for inputs would be a HUGE help for me, too. I could have several MultiView setups for different sorts or sizes of panel discussions, and still easily see the contact cards and supporting media that would apply to all setups.

I am somewhat hesitant on this one as it has the potential to get out of hand quickly, but I do see the benefits in certain situations. Or alternatively, being able to OPEN multiple Categories (although not as visually efficient).

I would like to add my voice to this feature request which I asked for a while ago too.
I really want the ability to put inputs in multiple categories, and I would also like as many categories as I want (like tabs in a browser), if possible please.
We have so many situations where this would be really useful. Shows separated into sections, with relevant VT's in each category. First and second half of sports events, different days of shows pre-programmed for basic level operators, etc.

Making copies of INPUTS (selected from Open dropdown vs. inputs, the elements making up an INPUT) and trying to keep the individual inputs within them (why did you give them the same name????) insync, available, etc., is nuts.
I second, third, etc., being able to either assign an input to multiple categories
OR
being able to display multiple categories at one time.
