What would be the specs for a vMix PC that actually used 1,000 inputs?
What would be the most important part? CPU? RAM? SSD? Graphics Card? Mouse?

(just teasing about the mouse, but... you already knew that)

I would almost be confident in saying almost say there is no PC that would handle that many inputs.
If the inputs were jpgs, yes, But not cameras.
Unless it was IP cameras and it only made a connection when you click on the source

Many years ago now all vMix editions had a maximum input limit of 100. One day we received an enquiry from a customer who was using 100 inputs (mainly for graphics and titles) and only needed a few more. Thus we increased the input limit to 1000, but that doesn't necessarily mean there is any computer available that could actually do that in practice. It was just so no matter what customers did, at least it wasn't a silly issue like a license restriction preventing them from doing so!

Nice router and all we have at work is 96x96 that I'm finding hard to fill up. At 3G sdi that would be 960 gbps ?, 10GE ethernet eat your heart out. I saw a drawing of a US cable facility, a 512x512 and two 256x256 all interconnected. I'm coming around to using velcro instead of cable ties. I also refer to our vmixer as the `deep thought' Sony. It will screw together 45 sources at once, that's around 42.
