Hi All,
We tried to load the new Desktop Capture software on the laptop used for power points to connect to the vMix PC.
The problem is that the desktop capture crashes when you try to start it up. In other words, you can't load it at all without it saying "vMix Desktop Capture has stopped working."
Can anyone help or if you are experiencing the same problem, post it too.
FYI, we are running vMix 17 and trying to load the latest desktop capture software using NDI.
Thanks

We are using the latest version of Desktop Capture.
The laptop that we are trying to use Desktop Capture on is a Dell Ultrabook using Windows 8.1 Pro.
The vMix production computer is a Dell Precision T3500 using Windows 10 Pro.

You're not helping me help you...
Desktop Version 17.0.0.?
No such thing as a Xeron. Do you mean Xeon? There are several Xeon mobile processors.

The one that is downloadable today on the website. It includes compatibility for NDI.

Okay. FYI, the current version of Desktop Capture is 17.0.0.74.
Let's make sure that nothing got corrupted somewhere. Uninstall vMix Desktop capture on the laptop and then reboot. Erase the install file in your Downloads subdirectory. Should be a folder named vMixDesktopCaptureNDI.zip or similar.
Now download again the Desktop Capture program from the vMix website. Make sure after downloading the desktop capture zip file that it is all extracted into a new folder. It's not an installer that is designed to run out of that folder. Try installing as Administrator (rt click on setup file). Install. Reboot. Problem still there?

I think you need to check if the CPU on that unit can handle NDI processing. Run this tool on the laptop. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.htmlThis will give you the specs of the CPU in the system. Look to see if the CPU has SSSE3 instructions. They are required for NDI.
