Hello,

Is it possible to run 4 instances of vmix all with own camera input (decklink quad) and with separate rtmp destinations.

Will there be problems with audio and what can i expect to go wrong?

System is powerful enough for this.

Pro licence

I tried this, without any success. Otherwise I'm interested about this, is there any solution or workaround? I think the ffmpg module is the bottleneck...

Why would someone wants to load multiple instances of vMix....?

Maybe 4 different source feeds to 4 differing servers.

vMix can stream to 3 different sources at the same time...would you open 2 or more instances of an editing software?.....If he wants to know, all there is to do, is try for himself......in that way, he will know the real truth for himself....Plus, does the license allow more than one instance of vMix to run at the same time.....have not read the agreement..I seldom read them...not a good thing, I just agree and that's that...

Multiple instance is possible with vmix, this is not a problem. I don't wanna cheat with the licences. :) Belive or not, there is a usecase for this thing... again, I think ffmpeg is the bottleneck. Maybe martin can give us more information about this. It's not a licence question, if I need more licence for this, that is okay.

As for multiple instances of vMix, I'm finding that I can only run one instance per executable. Therefor, in using a single vMix install, I can run a single x64 and a single x86 version. This leads me to believe that in order to run multiple instances on the same machine, I would need multiple installs to different folders on the HDD in order to achieve this. In my case where I used x86 and x64 versions, they did not share the same settings info. with multiple installs of the same version, I do not know if each will have it's own settings. As for the free version of vMix, I'm not certain how many free licenses are considered an acceptable number.

You can run multiple instance of vMix on same PC.

1) Goto settings.
2) Select Options
3) Select show advanced setting.
4) Select Check Box for Enable Multiple Instances
5) Select OK
6) Select Restart vMix to apply changes..

Then you can run multiple instances of vMix...

vMix can stream to 3 different sources at the same time..

But can you send 3 separate inputs to those 3 servers addresses ??

Running separate instances allows the option of sending...

source 1 to server 1
Source 2 to server 2
Source 3 to 'well you see the pattern"...

FLME is a dead end.

I found a way to use ffmpeg.

Copy vmix folder (vmix copy1, vmix copy2 etc) in program files
That creates a duplicate of vmix and ffmpeg.
Every duplicate folder has its own settings so you must check before running multiple instances in every vmix copy checkbox enable multiple instances.

So i managed to run 2 vmix with ffmpeg without error. Now lets see whats happnening with video/audio in streams (vmix video/audio output is linked thru external settings)

Exactly, I experienced the same! I think Martin can say something regarding this, for example there is a possible workaround or not, etc.

As i expected, vmix uses only one virtual device for video/audio output that comunicates with encoder (ffmpeg/flme).
When used by 2 vmix instances the video just blinks (fast swiching betwen one another) and audio is randomly chosen betwen two vmix.

Martin any help on this? Maybee someking of virtual ID for vmix external/streaming & audio?

Also Martin it would be wonderfull if external 2 would use audio of chosen input :D

For me a dead end for now.
