Hi Martin,
I congratulate you for this software it is really good and the image quality is excellent compared to other similar software, but still the chroma key effect is lagging behind, there is no horizontal and vertical blurring nor there is any edge shrink features for this reason chroma keying isn’t getting the desired results compared to other similar software. I’m really interested in VMIX and I’m planning to buy at least one licence and to start promoting it in my part of the world and for this I need to know if you are planning to fine tune the chroma key effect since it is vital for us to get clean keying.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Ali,
Have you tried all the various chroma keying options available in the window? There is an Anti Aliasing tick box you can use to blur the edges and the chroma key slider can be used to shrink the edges.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried all the various options on your chroma key window but still I’m having better results in another software. To state the obvious I’m using the same camera, light setup and PC. The Anti Aliasing tick box is good but it has to have more control, (perhaps a slider) this will help to feather the edges as desired. The chroma key slider is no comparison to shrink edges, different functionality. The chroma slider determines the tolerance of a specific color where you can key more or less of the same color tonality while a shrink edge command will evaluate the alpha generated by the key and applies an outline to it, this will help in removing rim edges or it can be used in reverse to grow the edge a little so the applied feather doesn’t crop too much of the image. There are two kinds of blurring effects, a pre-blur of the chosen color key and an alpha edge post blurring. Sorry for the headache but I believe in your software and I do believe that it will get stronger and I believe it is better thought-out than the competition. Just my two cents.

Hi Ali,
Is the software you are comparing to processing the chroma key live (real time) as well? Perhaps if you could post a snapshot from both as a comparison I can see what can be done to provide keying that matches the other software.

Hi Martin, Yes it is real time. I don't have a side to side comparison now, but I can provide one later this evening. I will email you now a snapshot of the other software chroma key window.
