Hi,

Is it possible to have Tally for Overlays alongside with the Local Time beneath the T-Bar as shown in the image below !!
It will help to know which overlays are in use specially when there are a lot of inputs.

thanks,

+1 as I also requested the overlay tally last November.

+1 for the time too, most of the times I set up a timer input to have this.

Good idea +1 not sure on the location of it good though as on smaller screens there is limited space and
when resizing the preview and output screens you can only move so much before it stops due to the control buttons for fade / cut etc
Having this there would make space even more limited.

I would put the Overlay Tallys inside both the OUTPUT and PREVIEW color bars. I don't have a preference on the larger time display. I think that feature needs some more thought because there are some other timer functions I think we need in vMix like those you see in the Tricaster.

I really like BETech's idea. Know which I put is being used in the overlays would be incredibly helpful. I would just used both ON AIR and in PREVIEW.

I think there is no problem to count to four, so:

Not sure if mention before but a button to turn all overlays off - like a reset button at the end of those status boxes of overlays channels
Just to save time. I usually have all programmed into shortcuts either on a Midi controller or using the UTC but anything to save time would be good.
When you click the all overlays off or Overlay Reset - It will reset all xaml or overlay inputs to starting position.

What you guys think?

I would also like to have the title of the preset you have open in the header bar for quick reference when you are saving, especially if you have a few, hard to know which one is open in a hurry.

Too much information. Better is to just put the tally border on at all inputs that are on program, with the overlay/multiview inputs in another colour, or all same colour and the actual input number above the PRG monitor.

It would be very helpful to see the status of the overlays. It can be a bit of a hunt to
find whats on and get to it quickly, especially when using categories.

Here's my wishlist expanding on whats been proposed. Ideally I would like this under the
T bar as I use a big screen, it could disappear when the screen is too small, but how about
the concept of mapping `control' input function(s) and the user could decide whether they need it
and where it goes, even in a category.

This would allow a ticker `control' input and screen space for future developments.

The top row displays the input number assigned to that overlay. Clicking one would put the source
on preview. Right clicking brings up an input selection list to define a source for that overlay.

The red middle row shows the overlay tally status and clicking these would directly toggle that overlay.
Right clicking could drop all overlays or turn one on and drop the others as a user preference.

One thing that traditonal mixers can do is transition the background and/or overlays on or off
in any combination. I haven't found an easy work around for this other than setting up 31 shortcut
keys ?

The bottom green row selects the `next' transition combination. B or background only is what we have
now. The selections in the image would, when a transition button is clicked -

Do a Background transition, turn Overlay 1 on, turn Overlay 4 off leaving 2 and 3 as is.

The down arrow simply copies the red row to the green for faster setup of the next row.
Category assignment would make a `control' category possible.

You are best to upload it to an image sharing site (like http://imgur.com/) and/or provide the permanent embed link to the image location between img codes.
You can also "Attach" items to your post.

Not a silly question at all...
I had the same question when I first came on board.

I used your links and added them within the "Edit" window of my original post, that's why the red "Edit by user" in lower right:

@ BETech

How about reducing the size of the Transition buttons ..
