Even with the best hardware, it can happen you suddenly lose a lot of frames.
A few weeks ago I had a usb soundcard suddenly dropping frames. since we monitored over the direct output of the soundcard, we didn't know untill a viewer told us.
Last weekend it was a Blackmagic card via external output, also something which is difficult to monitor.
There's not much you can do about it, or to prevent it from happening it seems, unless you had a very long time of testing before the gig and never change anything about your setup. But it would be cool if you know about it, by setting an alarm.
Good idea?

+1, I think it's a really good idea. We can see a good example in the OBS (you see how many frames are dropped the actual session).

+1, if there is a threshold of let's say 50 frames per output, it would be great.
If a card has a problem, that 50 dropped frames will be there within no-time, and if there are frames dropped because of tiny clock differences, it will take very long to get 50, as I count around 8 within an entire day.

+1. Perhaps in the same way that Record and Stream glow Yellow when there is Trouble, an Input could highlight or indicate Yellow or flash Yellow on Trouble.

I had the machine shutdown recently because it was overheating the gpu, just a
quick error message then gone! I've never seen Windows shutdown so quickly.
This wasn't vMix's fault as I was running a realtime 3D graphics app as well taking
external 2 from vMix, texture mapping it into a particle system and sending it back.
If there was a frame drop count in your face then I would have seen that the
computer was very stressed.
