We are looking to write a program that tracks which videos get played and how many times. (Advertisement tracking)

Is there any way to do this? I don't see any way to get the name of the current input(s) from the API. Is there a log file that I am missing or something? This seems like a very basic feature. I feel like I am overlooking something obvious.

I just want to build/see a list of which videos got played.
