Need help simplifying audio setup

We had some issues during a recent show and I wanted to reach out to the community for assistance. I do not like having to be responsible for audio in my shows but often times the task lies with me. That being said I have attached a diagram for clarification. I would like to simplify this so that I can run this with the least amount of people as possible. It would be great to hear your suggestions.

We had personnel at vMix-B machine (same person at Studio Mixer), the vMix-B machine, and the PA Mixer. It ended up being a nightmare once the show got moving despite extensive testing.

I am not sure if you have any budget to exchange equipment, but I might suggest a digital audio protocol such as dante for handling the audio. In this way you could merge all the streams from the different input setups and control it from one central location, possibly even vmix audio mixer using dantes new desktop application for multichannel audio routing.

This sounds like a great solution. Can anyone confirm if this works with vMix?

why the need for the second vmix ?? apart from the different audio is the video output any different ?

in theory you should be able to do it in one vmix , can you confirm what is wanted on each the Jumbotron output and the stream in the way of audio and video , then we can help you work out the best way of doing it.

What's the purpose of the "Studio Mixer"?
Audio routing can be a nightmare whenever you have bi-directional feeds to any mixer, and hence the importance of "mix-minus" routing.
I'm not exactly clear on all your needs, but simplification comes in isolating and directing sources properly, which, in the end, isn't always so simple.

Henry,

There were times during the show that each output was different, hence the two vMix sources.

We were setup with mix minus signaling but it was still a confusing mess once the show started.

Is vMix A recording?
The reason I ask is I'm trying to understand why vMix A needs the audio feed from the "Studio Mixer" (and by default the "PA Mixer")?
Would it make more sense to feed those inputs directly to vMix B and just provide the audio out from vMix A to the "Studio Mixer" (and "PA Mixer")?

I will be testing dante with vmix later this week, still waiting to get a digital mixer to run a full 32 channels I/O.

We use Dante everyday.
We use Dante enabled mixers.
We also use Reaper as a live Dante mixer. Easy mix-minus setups.
You WILL need this plug-in. http://odeus-audio.com.au/Odeus/Wdm2Vst


This all works great with vMix. In fact the ability to mix ASIO with WDM audio is a feature in vMix that is unmatched.

This is a game changer price wise.
