I use NDICam on my iphone and/or ipad and display the image on vMix.

This was all working well until I updated to .88

The device displays in the NDI pick list, but with a blank image.

When added as an input, it just shows a black image.

When I rolled back to vMix .85, the functionality was restored.

So there might be a conflict with the new NDI drivers.

The .88 changelog shows NDI updated to the latest release, it might be an idea to also contact sienna to see if there's an update available to the ndicam application making use of the newer NDI release.

EDIT..
I also read today on newtek forum same black inputs from others when feeding Tricaster and NDI monitor, so maybe sienna app does need an update..

I was going to test this using an iPod Touch. However, the only NDICam I see in the app store costs $49.99. I can't see it as being THAT useful.

It's not. I think all their stuff is excessively overpriced. Wait...it'll come down when they figure out they can't sell it.

For me it is quite valuable. The app effectively lets me have a camera that's battery powered, wireless, and close focusing.

So the price is still less than a decent webcam, and I am happy to support its continued development.

Hi,

I have just downloaded the latest 'Facebook' version released yesterday, and tried to set up an iPod Touch and iPhone running NDICam. Both get recognised by vMix but when selected no image is seen. Anyone else having similar problems?

Hi,

I have moved your post to a duplicate thread in the NDI forums.
Please contact Sienna about this as I believe they need to update their software to make it compatible.

There was a change to NDI recently that should be backward compatible with older SDKs, but maybe Sienna are using their own codec implementation.

Regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin. Maybe I should pay closer attention as to where to post my comments and questions! I will email Sienna today for their comments on NDICam issue.

Reply just received from Mark at Sienna, the producers of NDICam ....

Newtek know about this. We have been discussing at length yesterday and it didn't just affect our tools.

There was a version of NDI which introduced a backwards compatibility glitch during some protocol changes, released early June. It featured in one tricaster release, and one ndi library used by some developers.

The next ndi Sdk and tricaster release fixes it all again and all the previous apps like ndicam should be compatible again. That Sdk should be available already to vmix.

It's a temporary ndi glitch which has been immediately remedied.

Cheers

Mark.

This is a tricky one as we are using the very latest SDK as published on the NewTek web site (as of 17.0.0.88).
Maybe there is an internal release we should be updating to, I am investigating this further...
