Hey Mav, Thanks for sharing. Undoubtedly, a difficult type of event to cover, being a newbie viewer of your livestream, I found it somewhat difficult to watch or follow the race along as the watercraft appear to spread out quite a bit after the first lap and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the camera switching but I'm not sure if you have the resources available to fix that (i.e more cameras with specific assignments, leader, second, third/field, wide/aerial etc). A graphic of the course might also help the 'uneducated' like myself to understand what's going on. Surely, there are a few bugs to work out as the season progresses, and I am not sure of your set-up or limitations but if you are open to some constructive criticism, it seemed like there was minimal communication with your camera operators making it hard to get the shot you need when you need it. The overlay in the upper third was very obstructive most of the time, if it's a "Must", I would suggest placing a piece of tape on the camera's viewfinder so the framing is consistent for the camera person. Also, I would suggest a 'Countdown' clock on your "pre-show" stream or at least edit it out of the YouTube archive (27 minutes of repetitive commercials and promos is a little hard to sit through). All-in-all, a good broadcast with some excellent commentators (they are key to maintaining a good flow to your show).
Keep On Streamin' and keep us all posted through the season.

Thanks Ice! Exactly the kind of comments I was looking for. I've had similar comments and trying to find a technical solution for it. The top 3rd was new and you had read my mind on the tape thing for the viewfinder. I also still race so I forget that new viewers would be lost on some of the activities going on. I'll make sure to keep reminding myself that there will be viewers watching this for the first time. And FYI: the commercial times were my bio breaks. Lol IceStream wrote:Hey Mav, Thanks for sharing. I am not sure what you mean. I was streaming at 720p because that's the highest "safe" resolution I can send. I'm only using a mobile mifi for Internet access. I'd love to broadcast at 1080, but I'm in the middle of the beach. I'm streaming and recording too. Wow, you are good. It wasn't the interlacing setting, my camera's shutter speed was set really low. I didn't realize it until now. Thanks! Excellent! mavrick816 attached the following image(s): Capture.PNG (97kb) downloaded 10 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.
