In addition to the FadeToBlack button I would like to have a Freeze button. As it is a standard function in superior grade hardware switchers it should be in vMix too.
One example is if you have a laptop coming in via DesktopCaptureNDI and you have some PowerPoint presentations that you want to switch without an additional step. So you freeze the last slide of PPT-1, change the PPT and unfreeze as slide 1 of PPT-2 is up.

Something tells me this, and similar requests, are reaching a critical mass ;)

vMix Still Camera Upgrade
Snapshot feature for individual inputs

I don't see a close similarity to the requests in Link 1 & 2.
Link 3 is kind of close to my request but on hardware switchers you mostly have a button to freeze the output and NOT the inputs. Makes sense because you could check the changes on the inputs/preview and when they are ready to go you unfreeze the output.

Thank you very much for the replies.

The freeze feature has been requested so that feature is not currently available.
Good to know I didn't miss it.
Anyone have any ideas if there is a future features list or 'Mostly Likely' making it into the program list?
Do they ever have a survey of the different feature requests to see what people actually want or would use.
I have been using the photos feature except if you switch to a new photo in the preview it also changes the output.

Which leads too the other feature request that has been made.
Snapshot for the Individual Input feature which would be handy as that is pre down stream keyer and would allow a clean grab.

I have seen a forum post describing a macro(except I don't think my entry level versions has macros) that allows a still store to an image folder.
That image folder is an input and the input is refreshed, via macro, so that it shows up immediately as the next frame.
I think this is the work around people were using, except this requires a clean downstream with no overlays to work properly.

For me in my situation it will be difficult as I have limited inputs.
With unlimited inputs I would have a powerpoint or NDI input for the presentation and then I would screen grab the image into a new folder.
That new folder would be a different input and I would switch over to the still store grab I just made if necessary to switch the PP presentation around.
If the overlay lines up then the screen grab with overlay wouldn't matter as the overlay would fit properly.

Please let me know if there is something I am missing or something else I might be able to do.
With only 4 inputs I have to be 'fancy' when I do my live show and honestly it has worked out great so far.
If I ever decide to do multiple videos I will be out of luck because unlike 'Photos' there is no 'Videos' input.
Each video requires a new input and I have not quite figured out chapter markers yet.
If I figure out chapter markers then one video will probably work as I could skip to each marker point.

Thanks again everyone for your help.

P.S. There is a LOT of buttery goodness in this program and I love the NDI implementation

The "List" Input is for multiple Videos like the "Photos" Input...

I have simulated freeze function with 3 steps from short card.

1. Snapshort save with wert e:\Temp\ArkaosTest\test\capture - 2017.mp4
2. addinput with wert e:\Temp\ArkaosTest\test\capture - 2017.mp4
3. Fade input: capture - 2017.mp4

If you want more steps with snapshort.
You need then fourth shortcard with removeinput.

Output Freeze instead of FTB would be really helpful in a few situations

A simple freeze output button under the FTB button would be very nice!

Very often I have a camera shot that I want to hold for a few seconds.

If that freeze button also had a drop menu with very slow zoom it would be perfect.

(there are workarounds for a slow zoom, but sometimes you have that special (emotional) moments that you want to have it available right away)
