I am running new release vMix Basic 2010 version 5.8 as FREE BASIC
I opened my webcam, 2 video clips in wmv format
Play with them a while
then I start click on CLOSE of the input windows, and when I close the last open input, I got the error from vMix and vMix crashed

I completely remove vMix and then install vMix 2010 version 5.8 as basic... the same problem existed.

I then remove vMix 2010 version 5.8 and reboot my laptop and install vMix 2010 version 5.7. The problem goes away! I can close all inputs without having vMix crashed.

Hardware: Dell Latitude D620 with 3G of RAM, Duo Core 1.8Ghz, Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

1. Start vMix 5.8 as single screen
2. Add New Input - Add webcam as new input
3. Add New Input - Add a video clip in WMV format
4. Add New Input - Add another video clip in WMV format
5. Click on External Start

Now I start closing the input from right to left (the last input will be closed first). The last input to be closed is the webcam, and as soon as I click CLOSE on the webcam input window, vMix crashed!

1. I used "Program and Features" to remove vMix V7
2. I install vMix V8
3. I configured vMix as followings:
Display: System: NTSC 59.94i or 29.97p - Output Screen: 1 - Output Size: 640x480 - Output Aspect Ratio: Normal - Preview Size: 160x120
Options: Check Virtual Genlock for Capture Devices and Automatically start in Advanced mode
Performance: Preview Skip: 10 - Application Priority: Normal - Output Format: RGB32 - Check Synchronize Output with Refresh Rate...
Decoders: I use K-Lite Codec Pack so I set MPEG 2 Video, x264 Video to ffdshow Video Decoder, and MPEG Audio to ffdshow Audio Decoder
External Output: Select vMix Virtual Capture Device - System: NTSC 59.94i or 29.97p - Output Size: 720x480 - Audio Delay: 0
Audio: Default DirectSound Device - Uncheck Automatically mix audio

4. Now I add inputs, this time I only use 2 video clips format WMV as inputs.
5. Click LOOP on both inputs
6. Click I on the 1st input - Select Colour Key, Auto Colour Key (I click on black color)
7. Click on play on the control of preview window and output window
8. Move the FADE BAR to adjust the fading level
9. Start closing inputs

vMix crashed....

I hope the information helped. I think the fade bar has anything to do with the crash. if I don't move the fade bar, I close the inputs and no crash.

I'm having the same error, I thought it was my OS WIN 7 = 64.
but I'm not the only.
When you fix this, you can give autosave options
the records for errors! PLEASE!

and not lose what you are recording in AVI
(Recording and autosave every 5, 60 Minutes etc. 10.20.)
This is very important in keeping the film products, and it would be unfortunate to lose an important event.

I downloaded vMix V8.1 (new version w/ bugs fixed). It worked wonderful and I think this is more reliable than the previous version V7. I used it on the church's worship last week and it worked PERFECTLY! I wish vMix to be continued small, fast, simple, reliable, and performance...
