Preset New still resets External Audio delay to 0, but does not change External frame rate, output size or NDI settings.
Furthermore, in v17 it is very unclear what "New" does regarding the Streaming settings. It certainly does not change the Streaming Presets for example.
Please clarify, and perhaps change the behavior of New regarding External audio delay.

Adding onto what richardgatarski said,
vMix appears to now save the state of the Fullscreen window in the vMix preset file. However, this conflicts with the Config option to start fullscreen on launch when launching a preset directly instead of just the app. I'm not sure what changes would be better, but deciding on one method or the other would help in the case you want to start a preset without Fullscreen enabled and then enable it through a shortcut later without having to remember to deactivate it before saving any changes you might make to the preset.

As a starting point, perhaps a wish list of all the things you think New should change and leave the same would be helpful.
At the moment it does the following:
1. Resets all frame rates and resolutions across Display and External Output tabs 2. Clears External Output to defaults as a result of changing the frame rates and resolutions (leaves NDI as is as these are not resolution dependent) 3. Resets recording settings to default 4. Resets category names to default 5. Everything else is left the same (streaming settings kept for example)
Presets by comparison now save the following:
1. Inputs 2. Playlist 3. Recording settings 4. Overlay settings 5. Local shortcuts 6. Audio Master and A, B levels 7. Category titles 8. Streaming Settings and profiles 9. Outputs, External Output and Fullscreen settings (except NDI tickboxes) 10. Resolution and frame rate

Hi Martin, I think the way you have it 95% works well in my imagination, and actually it makes sense to save the Fullscreen properties (size, cursor on top, display, position, etc...) in the preset file, just the on/off trigger should (in my mind) be more session-related, and the presence of the Settings checkbox for "Start Fullscreen" is just in direct competition with the on/off value as saved in the preset file now. Essentially, in the Settings>Options window, "Start in Advanced mode", "Start Fullscreen display", "Start Minimized", "Start External Output", and "Remember Window Position" should not have a state value in the preset file since that is done in the global settings, and having two places where this could be taking effect is hard to manage. Thanks!

Probably one solution for easier understanding could be to split the current settings dialog in two sections (or two settings dialogs): "global settings" and "preset settings".
"Global settings" includes settings, which are necessary for all projects like hardware configurations, performance settings, default options for new presets, decoders, storage pathes, etc.
"Preset settings" includes all settings related to a project like resolution, frame rate, inputs, recording and streaming settings, audio config, etc.
For settings, which are difficult to assign to global or preset, I tend to assign them to preset settings.
At the end, the "New"-button has only influence on the preset settings.
