Hi all Looking to implement vMix as a live show PC for corporate AV work. I have a number of questions, but let's start with the Desktop Capture.
I'm trying the software (17.0.0.76) on my personal laptop which is nothing special - but coping quite well. While running the desktop capture software on a couple of other PC's I haven't been able to get it to work (black screens) despite checking firewalls etc etc.
So... in the absence of my own testing could someone please help me with the following?
- If I am running a powerpoint presentation at 1280x720 on the second screen, and there is HD 720p video, will this come smoothly into Vmix?
- If I am running the notes view of Powerpoint on the laptop's internal screen, can I select this and send to the second output (using vMix 4k)?
(I assume if network capture wasn't any good for full motion video I could just input it directly into HDMI capture device)
Cheers! David

The answers to your questions are all "yes". You have to troubleshoot your issues with the desktop capture. Try to install vmix to the systems you want to capture and run the desktop capture after this. That will ensure you are not missing some file that it is depending on.

Sometimes installing entire vMix is not suitable, for example if the captured computer is not owned by you. If the Desktop Capture app is provided as a stand-alone, I think all necessary files should be included in the package. (N.B. For viewing PDF files, we don't need to install the Adobe CC Master Collection)
